The most popular lasing media for solid-state lasers is the YAG (yttrium aluminium garnet) in crystalline or ceramic (amorphous) form which is doped with rare-earth materials.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore is of the uttermost importance understanding its optical properties in undoped form while broadening this knowledge to various contributions of the selected dopants.
