The micromachining team leader and post-doctorand<strong> Petr Hauschwitz<\/strong> welcomed the visitors in the lobby and presented the history and current priorities of the centre to them. Then, a Ph. D. student from the Laser Shock Peening (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hilase.cz\/produkty\/laser-shock-peening-lsp\/\">LSP<\/a>) group, <strong>Sanin Zulic,<\/strong> prepared a tour of the LSP experimental hall and shared more information about his specialisation during a presentation on the topic. A presentation by the<strong> InnoTeam <\/strong>of <strong>Skoda Auto <\/strong>followed.<\/p>\n<p>A short break for refreshments and discussion was followed by several presentations of technologies developed by the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/fzu.cz\">Institute of Physics<\/a> of the CAS<\/strong> (of which the HiLASE Centre is a part). The topics covered, as chosen by the visitors from Skoda Auto, were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alloys with shape memory (presented by Ing. Lud\u011bk Heller, Ph.D.),<\/li>\n<li>Plasma technologies for the preparation of thin film catalysts (introduced by Mgr. Martin \u010cada, Ph.D.),<\/li>\n<li>The development of batteries (covered by Ing. Ji\u0159\u00ed \u010cervenka, Ph.D.),<\/li>\n<li>3D printing and headlight quality analysis (spoken about by Ing. Tom\u00e1\u0161 Jetmar).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the end of the workshop, participants had the opportunity to take part in a short excursion to the neighbouring laser centre, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eli-beams.eu\/cs\/\">ELI Beamlines<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The event has shown to be very fruitful for both the Institute of Physics and Skoda Auto.
