Bulgakov <\/strong>(Team Leader: Nanomaterials) was published as one of the highlights in proceedings from the <em>32nd International Symposium on Rarefied Gas Dynamics<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hilase.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/papers-august-24-16.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He collaborated on the study, titled <strong><em>Rarefied supersonic jet of metal vapor with a light carrier gas: Cluster formation processes<\/em><\/strong>, with researchers from Institute for Electrophysics and Electric Power of RAS (Nikolay Y. Bykov) Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (Stanislav Fyodorov), and Kutateladze Institute of Thermophysics SB RAS (Alexey Safonov, Sergey V. Starinskiy).<\/p>\n<p>The process of silver cluster formation in a rarefied supersonic jet of a mixture of silver vapor with helium carrier gas is investigated. The study was carried out by the direct simulation Monte Carlo method and a kinetic model of cluster growth. Two simplified geometries of the jet source are considered. The data on cluster size distributions and gas dynamic parameters of the mixture species (metal and carrier gas atoms, metal clusters) are presented for a wide range of the mole fraction of helium in the source. The impact of kinetic model parameters on the flow pattern and cluster formation process are analyzed.
