The solution addresses common challenges in laser operations, such as power fluctuations and beam pointing instability during the warm-up phase, and enhances long-term stability throughout continuous use.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hilase.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/Active-alignment-control-system-for-thin-disk-regenerative-amplifier-3.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The research team, comprising <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jakub-hor%C3%A1%C4%8Dek-b8510a26a\/\">Jakub Hor\u00e1\u010dek<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/luk%C3%A1%C5%A1-hubka-10339160\/\">Luk\u00e1\u0161 Hubka<\/a><\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tul.cz\/\">Technical University Liberec<\/a>), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/michal-chyla-a5174b5a\/\">Michal Chyla<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/tomas-mocek-1ab6951a1\/\">Tom\u00e1\u0161 Mocek<\/a><\/strong>, developed a method that actively monitors and adjusts the laser beam&#8217;s alignment in real time. By integrating this system into existing laser setups, they successfully eliminated instabilities that typically occur during the warm-up period. Moreover, the system maintained consistent performance over extended operation times, ensuring reliable and precise laser output.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The method uses a four-mirror control system with two motorized mirrors in the regenerative amplifier, two external mirrors and four camera detectors.<\/li>\n<li>The implemented system achieved notable performance improvements, increasing power stability from 1.87% to 0.79% RMS and the peak-to-peak stability from 7.43% to 3.88%.<\/li>\n<li>Thanks to an enhancement of beam positional stability, certain sensor measurements have improved up to 6 times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>\u201cWe have been working on active alignment and stabilization of the laser beam for quite some time, as power stability, as well as beam positional and pointing stability, are crucial for ensuring reliable and precise operation in various practical applications of high-power lasers especially in industrial fields such as micro-machining,\u201d <\/em>comments the lead author, HiLASIAN <strong>Jakub Hor\u00e1\u010dek<\/strong>.<em> \u201cThis article presents significant improvements of these parameters.
