The result is a set of components that deliver:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>significantly lower mass,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>high stiffness,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>strong resistance to vibration,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>rapid design iteration,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>and the ability to <strong>reinforce specific areas<\/strong> exactly where needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The article highlights three practical examples of composite 3D printing in optomechanics: <strong>lightweight and rigid adapter blocks and periscope mounts<\/strong> that substantially reduce mass compared to aluminium designs; <strong>protective housings for optical switches<\/strong> that effectively block stray 1030 nm light; and a <strong>flexure-integrated mirror mount<\/strong> that enables precise angular adjustment through tailored fibre orientation and localized reinforcement.<\/p>\n<p>This research shows that composite additive manufacturing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>expands design possibilities<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>enables more <strong>compact and lightweight assemblies<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>shortens the path from concept to prototype,<\/li>\n<li>and reduces the cost of custom optomechanical parts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Modern composite 3D printing is no longer just a rapid prototyping tool \u2013 it is becoming a fully capable method <strong>for producing reliable components for advanced laser systems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/2673-3161\/6\/4\/81\"><strong>Read the full article.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>This work was cofunded by European Union and the state budget of the Czech Republic under the project LasApp CZ.02.01.01\/00\/22_008\/0004573.<\/em><\/p>\n","oddelovace":"none"}]},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.9 -
