Cryogenic Lasers

Investigation of new laser materials, including transparent ceramics, and their spectroscopic properties from room temperature down to cryogenic temperatures, at 1 and 2 micron wavelengths. The main advantages of microchip lasers are compactness, easiness to align and low cost. The team strongly collaborates with the University of Tarragona (Spain) and the National Research Council of Italy (CNR).
