Laser Safety Officer training LSO

Every organisation operating Class 3B and 4 lasers should appoint a Laser Safety Officer (LSO). The training provides you with the comprehensive information needed to perform this job. The training is suitable for laser operators, risk prevention professionals, health and safety officers, and managers.

The training for laser safety officers is based on the requirements of the standard TR 60825-14 (CLC/TR 50448:2005) Guide to levels of competence required in laser safety, which states that employer who operates class 3B and class 4 lasers should appoint a laser equipment safety officer.

  • How to select suitable laser safety glasses (EN 207:2017) and glasses for alignment work (EN 208:2009), practical calculations
  • Risks of working with lasers
  • Technical measures
  • Interlocking principles in laser safety
  • Administrative measures
  • Examples of near misses and accidents with lasers
  • Practical part in the laboratory – safe working procedures, laser system setup
  • Excursions in laser laboratories
  • Verification of knowledge – test

Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance valid for 5 years.
