ANNOTATION
The aim of the Laser Interlock course is to introduce participants to the technical, practical, and regulatory aspects of designing and implementing safety systems for laser installations in both research and industrial applications. The course covers fundamental principles as well as hands-on examples of laser interlock implementation in accordance with ČSN EN 60825-1 and ČSN EN ISO 13849-1.
The course is primarily intended for technical staff, designers, and professionals responsible for the safety of laser systems and workplaces, as well as system integrators and other specialists involved in the design, implementation, or operation of laser equipment.

- Gain an overview of the standards required for laser safety
- Consider laser-related hazards during risk assessment
- Understand the basic concepts of interlock systems and apply them in practice
- Become familiar with essential safety hardware
- Learn how to achieve the required Performance Level according to ČSN EN ISO 13849-1
- Design all necessary interlock elements based on laser classification, including:
- Proper use of interlock connectors
- When to apply manual reset
- How and when to integrate laser radiation warning systems
- How to address intentional bypassing of interlock systems
