Testing of laser guards in accordance with the ČSN EN IEC 60825-4 standard

We offer testing of laser guards in accordance with the latest edition of the ČSN EN IEC 60825-4 standard, Ed. 3. This standard specifies requirements for both permanent and temporary laser guards that enclose the process zone of a laser machine and is harmonized with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. It also provides the technical basis for compliance with Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 on machinery.

Testing is ideal for manufacturers, suppliers, and integrators of laser equipment who need to verify that their guards effectively confine the hazardous area and that the radiation level on the outside does not exceed the Class 1 limit.

We conduct tests in accordance with Annex D of the standard on at least ten material samples under specified laser parameters. The burn-through time is statistically evaluated, and the resulting protection time of the enclosure is determined based on this.
