HiLASE Welcomes Industry, Academic and Government Partners from Taiwan

What happens when experts from Taiwan’s industry, academia, and government visit a Czech laser centre? A day full of bright ideas – quite literally.

The HiLASE Centre opened its doors to a Taiwanese delegation eager to see how high-power lasers are shaping the future of manufacturing and materials. After a warm welcome from our Head, Tomáš Mocek, and Sanin Zulić, International Business Development Manager, the guests dived straight into the world of laser innovation – from applied research to real-world use in industry, space or defence.

In the lab, Lucie Ferstová demonstrated Laser Shock Peening in action – showing how laser pulses can make metal components stronger and last longer. Then Adam Novotný introduced Laser Micromachining, where precision happens at the nanoscale, perfect for electronics or medical devices.

By the end of the visit, one thing was clear: science may speak many languages, but innovation connects us all.
