Training in laser safety is intended for workers with lasers in laboratories, safety laser equipment officers, heads of laser laboratories, and health and safety technicians.
OBJECTIVE
To acquaint participants with the basic standards and regulations concerning work with lasers. At the end of the course, after the exam, participants will receive a confirmation of successful attendance valid for 3 years from its issuing.
Curriculum:
- Classification of lasers according to ČSN EN 60825-1 ed. 3 (including amendment A11:2021)
- Legal regulations concerning the use of laser equipment
- Maximum permissible laser exposure values and their determination (Government Regulation No. 291/2015 Coll.)
- Effects of laser radiation on the eyes and skin
- Selection and correct use of protective eyewear:
- laser protective eyewear (ČSN EN 207)
- eyewear for alignment work (ČSN EN 208)
- Hazards associated with the use of laser equipment
- Basic safe working practices
- Examples of near misses and accidents involving lasers
