HiLASE Centre attracted little future scientists at Dolní Břežany Vědobraní event

On Thursday, 25th May, the HiLASE Centre took part in „Vedobrani“ – an event organised by Dolní Břežany Primary School and Education42morrow with the aim of presenting science to the public. It attracted a large number of children and their parents who were eager to learn more about physics, chemistry, programming or even palaeontology. At the HiLASE Centre, we have long been striving to bring science closer to young people, so we couldn’t miss this interesting event!

Throughout the Thursday afternoon, the school’s sports hall was transformed into a “Science Square” with dozens of stands where visitors could, for example, program their own robot, imprint a trilobite, isolate DNA from saliva or shoot a rocket.

Thanks to the HiLASE Centre, children had the chance to become super-secret agents and try to weave their way through a laser maze. At our booth, they could try to see through various optical illusions or engage in simulated eye surgery. Finally, they saw a model of the BIVOJ laser system – the record holder in its laser category. More details and pictures from the event can be found here.

In a few days, you can meet us at our next public event. From 8 to 10 June, you will find us at the Science Fair at the joint stand of the Institute of Physics of the CAS in the PVA EXPO Prague. We are looking forward to seeing you!
