2024 International Day of Light

We cordially invite you to the celebrations of the 2024 International Day of Light, which will take place at the HiLASE Centre and other facilities worldwide on Thursday the 16th of May 2023 from 4pm to 8pm. This time, it will be 64 years since American physicist and engineer Theodore Harold Maiman introduced the first laser and laid the very foundation of our research.

To celebrate the occasion, we are preparing fun educational activities for scientists of all ages, including lectures, guided tours, a laser maze, experiments, as well as creative crafting for the youngest participants. The detailed programme will be published by the end of March 2023. For up-to-date information about this and other events organised at the HiLASE Centre, keep an eye on our website and follow us on social media.

This event is open to public. Photographs and videos of the event will be taken for reporting and promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be in these, please speak to one of our colleagues at the venue or contact us at communication@hilase.cz.
