Another world record on the Bivoj laser system is broken, and by 40 percent. In January, scientists from the HiLASE Centre in Dolní Břežany achieved this feat. In the process of converting to second harmonic frequency, the device generated pulses with a wavelength of 515 nanometres (nm) with an energy of 95 joules (J) at a repetition rate of 10 hertz (Hz). Bivoj is thus still pushing the limits of laser technology and making it possible to process, for example metals, better.
