We are happy to announce that Jan Pilar, PhD student and junior researcher within HiLASE Research Programme 2 won 2nd place at the graduate student poster competition at the 7th Conference of the International Committee on Ultrahigh intensity Lasers, Montebello, Canada, September 11-16, 2016. (www.icuil2016.org). The poster presented was tilted “Adaptive optics development at HiLASE” and explained the results of his disertation. In addition to the poster competition, the biennial meeting ICUIL2016 also focused on the generation, amplification, compression, and measurement of ultra-high-intensity lasers as well as their applications.
