Advance in numerical modelling and experimental studies: Laser induced plasma characterization

Researcher Marine Scius-Bertrand from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers and our HiLASE Centre team managed to prove the efficiency of her numerical model that focuses on laser induced plasma characterization in direct and water confined regimes.

The French researcher compared her model with samples from three research infrastructures (HiLASE Centre, Hephaïstos and GCLT). Therefore, she used experiment results from our colleagues Jan Kaufman, Danijela Rostohar and Jan Brajer, who are developing a very promising Laser Shock Peening method.
