A visit from Japanese Tokyo Instruments at the HiLASE Centre

On Friday the 5th of May 2023, the HiLASE Centre was visited by Tsunetaka Kawabe, Chief director of TOKYO INSTRUMENTS, INC., Japan who was accompanied by the Director of Tech4Life Hub, Richard Schneider from the CzechInvest. CzechInvest plays a key role in the area of supporting business and investments and focuses on the promotion of the Czech economy, technologies and R&D abroad.

Kawabe

Sanin Zulić MSc., International Business Development Manager,  met up with them and first introduced the activities and research taking place at our laser centre. They discussed possible opportunities for cooperation on the Czech-Japanese level with a focus on the industry, laser development, and possible joint projects.

Mr. Kawabe also visited the clean labs where the BIVOJ and PERLA lasers are developed. The BIVOJ is a pulsed nanosecond diode-pumped solid-state laser using cryogenic cooling technology. It holds multiple world records in its category.

The PERLA laser system, also developed as the commercially available PERLA 100, operates on the basis of thin disc technology and has several different industrial applications. It is suitable for applications such as laser micromachining, material processing, analytical spectroscopy and damage threshold testing.

Thank you for the visit, we look forward to any future collaboration!
