A strategic merger of SHM, s.r.o. and the HiLASE Centre, which is an important part of the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, v. v. i. created the new spin-off Hi-Beams, s.r.o.
Its primary aim is to launch a brand new service onto the market – innovative methods of material surface treatment and a completely new, unique solution in the field of industrial tool preparation, using laser technologies Laser Shock Peening (LSP) or Laser Surface Texturing (LST) and also specific combinations with other technologies of laser processing and conventional surface treatment.
The range of materials to which the methods can be applied includes steels, sintered carbides, non-ferrous metals, and their alloys, plastics, glass, cermets, and cutting ceramics. Significant progress and innovation can be achieved in a wide range of industrial areas when combined with a suitable PVD coating.
The main goal of Hi-Beams is to significantly increase the work efficiency of a tool in the work processes of customers from various fields. Moreover, Hi-Beams’ ambition is to become a long-term partner for its customers and provide them with innovative solutions and technological development in the field of preparation and maintenance of industrial tools.
Cooperation with Hi-Beams brings advantages like
- Increasing the reliability of production, i.e. eliminating production downtime
- Increasing productivity and quality of production
- Multiple increases of machine/tool life
- Possibility of re-using of renovated expensive tools
- Reduction of operating and reinvestment costs
- Improving the economics of the entire production process cycle
Hi-Beams thus generates an interesting offer and an array of applications and services, especially in the industrial areas such as automotive, engineering, and aerospace. The range of services is also interesting for manufacturing companies, with an emphasis on economic and especially efficient use, preparation, and maintenance of tools.
We strongly believe in the success of Hi-Beams, s.r.o. spin-off and we wish it all the best!
