Future development of the HiLASE Centre is not an isolated activity. The Centre is perfectly located in a new and dynamically developing region STAR (Science and Technology Advanced region), i.e. the cluster including all key innovative infrastructures and hi-tech companies of the region with huge potential to increase the competitiveness of the region and wellbeing of its people. The emphasis will be put on active participation in further development of the existing regional cluster formation STAR providing an innovation friendly environment. STAR, just like HiLASE Centre, is a member of the Brain4Industry consortium.

Brain4Industry is a science and technology consortium that enables small and medium-sized industrial enterprises to apply the results of cutting-edge technological research to everyday manufacturing practice. It focuses on digitalisation, additive and laser technologies, artificial intelligence, innovative materials, and coating systems.

It specializes in product research and development, the entire production chain, and its sustainability. It also helps develop solutions and optimize production processes to increase companies’ added value and make production more efficient.

The consortium offers a comprehensive ecosystem for innovation, cutting-edge technology, expertise, accompanying training and consulting services, and customized support. Thanks to its status as a European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH), SMEs can benefit from the services and technological facilities of the consortium under de minimis support.

It is based in the Dolní Břežany innovation centre, where it is also possible to use a wide range of additive technologies, training facilities, and shared offices within the framework of joint projects.
